Northmec with the help of Welger gave a 4 day training course on the Welger baler range.
This was done in middle October, just before baling season. Therefore everybody should have the information fresh in their minds for the season ahead.
The course was aimed at training sales, technical and parts personnel. The training was led by Mr. Michael Grube, with more than 25 years experience, one of Welger’s most experienced technicians. We at Northmec are very fortunate to have the support from suppliers like Welger, who will invest time and money to work together and develop our market even further.

Northmec is one of the few agricultural equipment suppliers that are accredited to train its own apprentices and get them qualified in house. We aim to have at least twenty-two people in the process (three year cycle) of training to meet the demand for technicians in our production series.
Northmec has ten trade branches with fully equipped workshops and a variety of service vehicles to provide our clients with service delivery even when the product cannot be transported to our premises. There are also heavy vehicles located at strategic branches to transport products to the workshop for repairs when they cannot be driven there.
The technicians are in service of Northmec and do not work on a freelance basis. This ensures that we have full control over the standard of service and training.
Northmec also has a trade network that consists of 42 sales- and service locations (with technicians) that are supported by a technical support team. This ensures that in case a dealer or branch faces a particularly difficult technical problem, a specialized person is available immediately.
Training on new technology is supplied on a regular basis from our international principles and is supplemented with our own in-house training, performed by people who underwent training overseas. When new products are brought to South Africa, the training and part requirements of the products are taken into consideration beforehand, which allows us to be on top of the requirements and provide our service immediately.
Parts are ordered and delivered on a supply- and demand system. Northmec’s policy is to have all parts that are known as service- or wear and tear parts as readily available to customers as possible. There are also systems in place to have products that are not available flown in on a priority basis, this restricts the time that customers have to wait to a minimum.
